Learn and have fun at home!!

We have had parents ask us about how to extend learning at home. For students in FDK who are just starting to learn all their letters and sounds play this fun game!! We all love flashlights and hide and seek!! Before bed time maybe instead of a story play:

THE ALPHABET FLASHLIGHT game!!

Make or buy a few fun letter shapes and hide them around your child's room before bed (3-4). Than when it's time for bed play this game! Turn the lights off and hunt for letters. When done finding them...lay them out and talk about the letters and sounds. Maybe even talk about what words begin with those sounds. Want to extend the fun even further?? Make a cute journal and record the letters that were found. If the child is ready write down some words! Later allow your child to bring in their fun findings every few weeks to share with the class. This is a great way to make learning fun at home!
