Pumpkins and messy gooey fun!

As you can see our pumpkin exploration included literacy, mathematics, belonging and contributing and self regulation! Way to go team kinders! So much amazing learning has come from pumpkins!
Counting the seeds sure is challenging!
Measuring skills was something our students decided to use to check the height of pumpkins and later used cubes to look at extra large, large, medium, and small link towers.
We also continued to learn about shapes and have been creating shape haunted houses.

More pumpkin fun and shape exploration coming your way soon.

Monday: Dress up for Halloween! Don't forget NO masks and NO weapons as part of costumes :-)

Child's view of our forest walk ♥️OCTOBER

Better late than never right? All photos were taken by your children and later used for discussion. It's really fascinating to see how photos done by children can turn into something so beautiful! We have little photographers on our hands.

Leaves, Patterns, and Shapes

We went on a pattern hunt and found so many great patterns around our school! Growing patterns with numbers, shape patterns, and colour patterns. We even used instruments (rythym sticks) to learn about patterns.
We have been having fun making patterns in class in so many ways...
We took our wonder wagon out on a scavenger hunt...team work made it extra fun. Blog about the walk with photos from students perspective coming soon!
We read a wonderful story "Leaf Man" and it inspired our students to make beautiful art from the leaves we collected. Ask your children what they learned about trees and leaves this week!
We were very curious about the gourds that have been sitting on the table for a few days. Some students decided to ask questions and try to answer them. We than did a whole class activity asking questions about the gourds to the class.
Our light table continues to inspire plenty of learning. Everyone is so excited to show us what they have done.
Our smart board is helping us learn too...this time about 2D shapes!
We get all the hands up eager to participate during smart board lessons. Everyone wants to get a turn to show what they know. Gotta love technology with our new generation!
Shapes have been used to make creative pictures. After each student is done we ask them about their picture and what shapes they know.
We had another reader this week! Malcolm read us Mortimer!
Some of us are beginning to prep our donated little readers for our Rockin' Readers program which will start in November.
