We are loving making plans and thinking about what our robots will do and actually creating them. Your little monkeys are so creative.
We are learning lots based on student wonderings.
Each robot is created by thinking out a plan first as seen above in the first robot photo and each student, with guidance writes about what their robot can do. Some have said they can clean their room, brush their teeth, and listen to their mommy and daddy for them.We also continue to explore how robot joints move with the help of bionacles from Mrs. Stula. We have learned from books that some robots move their joints like humans and that they have sensors in their grippers to help them feel how hard to press on something. We have also learned about how some robots can show emotions and talked about how we express emotions with facial expressions.
Spring is definetly in the air now. So we decided to use tulips to inspire our students at the painting area.
We are collecting plastic bags this week and we will be tallying daily the amount of bags we collect. Please send in as many as you can!! Let's be the class that collects the most. See explanation below:
A BIG thank you to one family who decided to send in two robot movies which helped us with counting and voting for math but also gave us a nice little treat on a Friday afternoon. After all, who doesn't enjoy some popcorn and a little relaxation? One student noticed we have a book in the room with robots from this movie. Over the next few weeks we will use this book to learn more about media and robots as well as, reality vs fiction.
Great blog....Eden really enjoyed the focus on robots!
