Rain don't bring us down!

It's been rainy but that has only sparked our little minds light bulbs and has given us plenty of time to stay indoors and learn! Not to mention we are now WORM experts!

Oh and YES Mrs. Latus was dared to kiss a worm and YES it happened. Our monkey doodles are not making this up lol. Photo credit to Ms. Flor.

Here are some great things we did this week!
First of all, we took advantage of the sun and took a lovely walk to collect short sticks to help us build family branches (see some completed ones below) AND to collect stacking rocks for a great math activity!
"I found a heart rock"

We collected many sticks and have begun the process of creating "family branches" which will be displayed all over our classroom. Some students are even recognizing those that have passed away by adding crosses which is very thoughtful and sweet.
We asked our students what does family mean?
Our stacking rocks inspired writing, reading and math!
We also collected small and big rocks and this inspired some rock art.
Team work at its finest :-)

WORMY days!
Worms took over our classroom and we learned soooooo much! A fun activity to try at home was sent out to all of you! Share it with us if you try it.
Here are some wormy pictures...
We used books, the smart board and experiments to learn about worms.
Some of us tried to make long and short worms of our own.

Let's not forget it was April Fools Day! We sure got tricked by one of our friends!!
