So official summer is over as of today however, this nice weather makes it feel like it isn't leaving anytime soon. We hope everyone enjoys the amazing weather this weekend! We ended off our summer with our favourite Popsicle song and a special treat! This day was a celebration of the last day of summer but also was inspired by the students love of this fun dance. Check out their dancing on twitter! Don't forget to check Twitter daily there are so many great pictures up there that don't make it to the blog! @LatusFlorFDK (you don't need an account)
Have you asked your little ones what they did this week? Is the answer often "nothing". Well here is a little mini-run through (in a quick nutshell).
A love for writing, reading and literacy overall was clear this week in our room. Whether it was writing on the white board, storytelling, listening to Bible stories and other stories, and sharing stories with friends we did quite a lot.
Creating our alphabet and finding letters in our names and words outdoors was a blast.
Patterning and learning more about patterns was done in many ways. Through stories, smart board lessons and through apples and other resources.
Please continue to look for patterns around your home and allow your child to bring something in to share to show a pattern.
One student brought in a trophy to share that had a pattern and another noticed that Mrs. Latus had a bracelet which had a pattern of 3 round beads and a silver bead that repeated.
Here's a few more creative patterns:
One super fun memory from this week was being able to enjoy some gym time!
Well and ofcourse the weather has been AMAZING so we have been outside a lot and have used it for learning. We even tried learning about animals and some students tried creating desert habitats in the sand pit.
Thank you for all the continuous support and kind words. We hope you enjoy your PA Day with your children while we enjoy some teacher schooling time.
Oh...one more thing!
We LOVE exploring with water outside! So we are sorry if we are a little sandy and wet sometimes.
