We love computers and writing!! Let's not forget learning to measure!

We are creative with technology! Check out our cool pictures that inspired some writing.
Our little monkeys decided to create some neat pictures in the computer lab and than we used some words to write about them! Great ideas are flowing!! We have such fantastic learners and we are so proud of them!
We brain stormed what we could use to measure various items in our classroom. We learned about non-standard units of measurement and two rules to follow when using them. 1. Items should be the same size and shape and 2. Items should be placed right beside one another. Below you will see some great ideas we had on our measurement hunt!

"My arm is four big blocks long."
"Both our heads are ten links around them." "They are the same."
"This chair is 7 blocks tall."
"We are using the shells to measure how long the shelf is."
"The C paper is 4 shells tall."
"I used cubes to see how tall your chair is."
"We used circles to measure around the block."
"We used bears and tiles to see how long the table is."
"I measured the board."

Just a few more...

One student also came up with the idea to use numbers and a letter today to make a mini statement! Cool idea huh...can you guess what is says?
"Look I wrote eight crosses...you can use other things to write and show ideas and use letters and numbers."

There was also a group of students working on making a ramp for their cars. We tried three ways of making ramps and problem solved together to try to make the one that would make the cars go the farthest over the other areas they built. It was a lot of fun!

Have a wonderful weekend!!
