Easter reflections and learning.

Easter is a very important and beautiful time for self reflection and learning for us Catholics. In our class we have tried our best to use Christian meditation, fun Easter activities, self reflective dances and books, 40 day challenges and crafts/baking to learn more during this special season. Thank you for all your generous donations to Lenten Kits for Kids and for all you continuous love and support. We are so very blessed to have you and your amazing children as part of our school community.

One sweet moment we must share is how excited our students get for meditation and reading a short story from the children's Bible. Hearing "I cannot wait for Father David to visit so we can learn more about Jesus." And "Yay a Bible story I'm so exited to hear more about Jesus and his miracles." truly made our week.

Below are the pictures from the making of our Ressurection Rolls. Please ask your children about the symbolism.
Marshmallow-Jesus because he is pure and loving.
Cinnamon-Spices the disciples put on the body after Jesus died.
Crescent Roll-The white cloth Jesus was wrapped in.
Oven-The tomb
When the marshmallow melts away and we bite in we saw that Jesus had resurrected just as he did in our Bible story.

Prior to eating our rolls we made sure to thank Jesus for all he did for us.

We have also been learning about the cross and Jesus dying on it for us. Your egg cartons were used to produce a beautiful cross which will be coming home for Easter.
During the month of April it is Aboriginal Awarness month and we are starting to teach our children about various Aboriginal stories.

We made dream catchers and learned the story behind them. Ask your child what they learned about why a dream catcher was designed and who came up with the idea.
Please continue to follow our picture updates through Homeroom links.

Tomorrow we will be enjoying a Passion Play and learning more about Easter.
Some of us have even visited the Chapel and have had some time to learn/pray in it.

Have a wonderful weekend if we don't see you have a beautiful and reflective Easter.
